Over thirty years ago, three Joplin residents began a 1,500-square-foot custom job shop that specialized in providing new and repaired parts to local industries.  The framework of the business was built on the belief that success would come from ensuring customers receive quality products, a quick turnaround time and diversity of services. Today Midwest Tool, Inc. has grown into a 54,000 square foot climate-controlled facility housing over 100 precision machines, remaining committed to our beliefs and our customers. 

 

Our shop is unique in that it provides complete job service: milling, turning, boring, grinding, sawing, welding, wire EDM, and CMM inspection. We can handle a wide spectrum of requirements from the small precision part to the largest piece of machinery. We offer new products along with replacement and repair parts ensuring industries remain operational to meet their production quota.  Our customers represent numerous industries both regionally and nationally, including aircraft, aerospace, automotive, gas and oil, mining, packaging equipment, off-road equipment, and special machines. 

 

We employee skilled machinists, many who have been with the company for 10 plus years and are supported by expert management. When hiring we require a minimum of 3-5 years machining experience. MTI machinists run CAD/CAM software enabled machines, large vertical turning, horizontal milling/boring, CNC lathes, wire EDM machining and complete fabrication/welding department.
